EEX AG offers companies the opportunity to retrieve data and use it in raw or derived form exclusively within their organisation or to disseminate it to third parties.
In addition, EEX offers its trading participants a licence model for trading and settlement activities at EEX.

Internal Usage Licence
What is included?
- Our Internal Usage Licence allows companies to use EEX Group DataSource Products exclusively within their company without onward dissemination to external third parties or Affiliated Companies.
- Usual use cases are analysis and forecasts or risk management for energy purchasing and/or trading.
How to get access?
Trading Usage Licence
What is included?
- Our Trading Usage Licence is exclusively dedicated to EEX Trading Participants, designed to support trading and clearing activities within the EEX Group.
- It provides access to all EEX Market Data, structured and normalised in various formats and levels of granularity.
- Dissemination of EEX Market Data with Affiliated Companies and Service Providers involved in trading activities is included.
- Provide EEX Market Data to an unlimited number of clients at no additional cost, using the Indirect Access option.
How to get access?
External Usage Licence
Our External Usage Licence is designed for Vendors, i.e. companies which onward disseminate an EEX Group DataSource Product to third parties or Affiliated Companies (subscribers). The fees for an External Usage Licence depend on the type of usage and in the case of Commercial Usage on the number of Subscribers. The fee for External Usage will gradually increase with the number of Subscribers. We offer 3 different Commercial Usage types:
Commercial Usage
- A Commercial Usage is the onward dissemination to a third party, in raw or in derived form, for their exclusive Internal Usage
- Usual use cases are newsletters, digital solutions, consultations, customer portals etc.
Media Usage
- A Media Usage licence allows our customers to disseminate the EEX Market Data publicly in raw form only.
- Usual use cases are price tickers on a public website or a promotional document.
Scientific Usage
- Use of the EEX Market Data by an academic establishment for its scientific and educational project.
- Usual use cases are seminars, conferences, scientific papers.
How to get access?
Reporting Policies
Our usage licences are linked to a reporting policy, which has been designed to limit the administrative burden for you as licence owners to a maximum, while making sure to support your business case.
As of Section 4.2.3 of the General Conditions all subscription holders, must report their usage of EEX Group DataSource Products to EEX AG once a year.
How does it work?
- An invitation and the respective form to report on the Usage of EEX Group DataSource Products will be sent to all subscription holders course in early summer.
- The reporting needs to include the review of your usage of EEX Market Data, and if necessary, the number of Subscribers you are disseminating EEX data to, in raw and in derived form.
- Please make sure that your contact details in your EEX Group webshop account are always up to date.
